The ten greatest lenders based on the number of mortgages originated in 2012 are as follows:

Rocket Mortgage. According to HMDA data, Rocket originated 464,000 loans worth $127.6 billion in 2022, remaining the market leader. This is a significant decline from 2021, when Rocked made over 1.2 million loans worth $340 billion.
United Shore Financial Services. In 2022, this lender, also known as United Wholesale Mortgage, originated 348 million loans worth nearly $127.5 billion.
LoanDepot. LoanDepot maintained its No. 3 ranking in 2023 by originating 156,000 loans worth $53 billion.
Wells Fargo. Early in 2023, the megabank announced that it would reduce mortgage lending. Last year, however, Wells Fargo originated nearly 143,000 loans totaling $79 billion.
Fairway Independent Mortgage. Close to 128,000 loans totaling $41 billion were originated by Fairway.
Bank of the United States of America. Returning to the list of the top 10, Bank of America originated 121,000 loans totaling $54 billion.
U.S. Bank. Also returning to the top 10, U.S. Bank originated nearly 120,000 loans with a total value of $43 billion.
The JPMorgan Chase bank. Chase Home Lending, a division of the megabank, originated 115,000 loans totaling $73 billion. Its average loan quantity, which exceeded $631,100, was the highest among the top 10 lenders.
PNC Bank. PNC made roughly 108 thousand loans totaling $37 billion.
Citizens Bank. Citizens originated 101 000 mortgages with a total value of $25 billion.
