Thread regarding Appian layoffs

More layoffs

There was another "reorganization" today in the marketing division where they let go several people, including all but one member of the website department. Were other departments affects as well?

Leadership continues to flatly deny that these are layoffs, while continue to prune people and not opening new job listings to replace them.

If I correct in my assumption of the situation referred to here, not only was the individual given the job on the spot but there was no interview process meaning better candidates (of any gender) were not able to apply. In another world that’s against employment law but it doesn’t apply to “them” since they perceive themselves to be better than everyone else.

Can anyone share what the severance packages have been like?

I've been shouting about s-xism at this company for a while now (even reporting instances to HR, with of course no resolution) and I'm glad someone here is acknowledging it in terms of layoffs. I wish the media would pick up on the mess that is Appian right now. Like everything else, these layoffs and blatantly prejudice re-organizations in Marketing are being swept under the rug, and shareholders have a right to know what's going on here!

@1mag+1lqknMha The s-xism is even worse than that. They didn't just fire the female VP. They fired every female manager who reported directly to her. Now the leader of the skeleton team who wasn't laid off is an older white man who has been here less than a year.

One of the people fired in this round was my boss. This is the second time the all-white male founders have fired a female marketing executive without cause in less than six months. People I know are quitting left and right rather than be held to the fire over the founders crazy unrealistic goals. The CEO sent out a survey last week asking everyone how many hours they are working and the middle number in the survey was 55 hours a week like we should be normalizing that.
