Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Advice for a new employee!

I wanted to thank all vigilant employees on here who have warned us of the current situation we find ourselves in. I appreciate you! I also would like your advice...

It is obvious that Apollo will sell parts of Avaya after BK is concluded. If my business is sold off, what can I expect? If I get laid-off, can I expect a severance from Avaya/Apollo (I know it's max 6 weeks or less even).

More importantly, what parts of Avaya are most likely to be sold-off in your opinion?

Thanks!

Avaya market cap is under 600 million. Its patents are maybe worth more than the company. I wish the folks at Avaya well.

It's Gartner.

And Avaya base business is the key to take MSFT to the next level in the enterprise for reliability and expansion into a UC + Model for contact center features. It really is a UC+ world.not a CC world.

You may lack perspective. Avaya is years behind the competition in UC and CCaaS. Avaya engaged Ring Central as a way to monetize its shrinking base of legacy customers. Avaya's time is past, and it is time for Avaya to retire into the sunset.

Gardner lists Microsoft as the global leader in UC. Avaya is not even on the list.

You may lack perspective to the market if you believe MSFT the UC Leader. They have stickiness for collaboration, yet are not fully baked and what they lack is where Avaya shines. If MSFT could align Avaya with their Nuance acquisition and add Audio Codes, there would likely be no competitor as it would be the complete solution.

Now would MSFT likely avoid the Apollo shyte-show? Absolutely.

I agree that unless there is an off-chance that a big player like MSFT buy into Avaya in short order, Apollo will begin breaking it up.

Microsoft is the global leader in UC. They would never acquire Avaya.

For a new employee, you have good instincts and perspective. Too many old school employees still don't really "GET" IT.

Best case scenario is Avaya is acquired. Even better is that it will be by Microsoft. If a deal such as that does not occur within the first 6-9 mos post bankruptcy, then Apollo will need to sell assets to try to gain value in their hostile takeover so called "investment".

And yes to the last comment. No one thrives after Chapter 22. E.V.E.R. !!!

Do yourself a favor and avoid the legacy employees who still have their heads buried in the sand and declare that Avaya will be stronger than ever. They. Are. Utterly. Clueless. And you don't want to be associated with them.

Search for large corporations who have filed for chapter 11 twice within 7 years and are still in existence. Good luck.
