Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

The company trolls this site continually

There has always been a cult like environment at NetApp. Profile over product. Very close attention is paid to this site and posts are made by paid employees to dispute the concerns which are raised.

Be aware that there is a process in place to identify and neutralize both the comments as well as the authors.

All the conspiracy theories about NetApp deleting posts are beyond amusing. Thanks for the chuckle, folks.

In response to ASA, it does seem counter-intuitive for the "ONTAP does all protocols" mentality, but there was a segment of customer population that for whatever reason didn't like that and wanted only SAN. They thought the fact the platform COULD do NAS made it weaker, even if they weren't using those protocols, and only bought SAN-only boxes. That's who ASA was created for.

Being laid off gave me a chance to find a much better job at an exciting company with higher pay and better benefits working for a strong manager. Businesses are still hiring.

Getting laid off is the best thing that could happen to you. Do you really want to hang around with the career losers still left? The job market is greatcright now.

New? All they've been doing for years now is throwing a fresh coat of paint on broken down ideas and buying cloud companies to run into the ground. All of their innovation is copying now. New C series, Pure, didn't even change the name. ASA, which has been a nothing burger since they first announced it in 2019 and just renounced it yesterday flies in the face of their unified message. New free every 3 mode, stole that from Pure. All-flash Object store, well I would say they copied it, but I think they may have had it first and done zero with it. NetApp has so much potential if they connect their properties together the right way and quit building mile high walled gardens, but they refuse to take risks and keep adopting stronger and stronger defensive stances.

Wow, somewhat harsh don't you think? NetApp just announced new products; new SAN array ASA A-Series, new SG system and ransomware recovery feature.

Maybe things are turning around for NetApp.

Please start looking for roles outside. Take recruiter calls and email, actively go for interviews, find a way out of this company that is on the decline. Go somewhere where true efforts and results are rewarded… not politicking and being friends/relatives with company leadership

I'm an employee, I post here and visit often because this the only information I have about my wonderless employer. Come at me bro. WTF cares if some spineless manager reads this site as well? free speech and all that.

They can’t do much here, except to make a post or two, and their posts are so easy to notice. And they can’t track anybody, because nobody is stupid that much to post from the corporate network.

NetApp employees, managers, etc. do post and read comments on this site.

Please be careful what you post, big brother is watching!!

For sure do not post here while on the corporate network. They track and scan your connections and I wouldn't be surprised if they target individuals who have commented.
