A lot of people that have decades under their belt were laid off. Of everyone I knew being laid off (DFW/USA based) I feel I was the youngest and I'm pushing 50. I recognized that people that have been with Sabre for 20+ years probably are high earners at their level, but I can't help think that it's kind of ageist...I'm probably coming out of left field here, and it is just a salary thing, but I can't shake it. I'm curious to know the average age of the folks who were let go?

It's very possible there are grounds for a class-action lawsuit in the U.S. A win in court would involve back pay and possibly getting your job back. But someone has to be willing to get it initiated with facts to back up the fact that there was age discrimination in the RIF.
how do we get a list of who was severed?
Longevity = higher salary
Ageist and s-xist - as a female nearing retirement, I experienced condensing attitudes and reduction of duties since November 2023.
Sabre has actively discriminated against the very resources who were the backbone holding it together while catering to the newbies who need to mature, both personally and professionally.
as somebody already said, the severance paperwork will include a list of titles and ages of those laid off.
note, however, that age discrimination can be hard to prove, even if there are a lot of older people in the list as there are often confounding factors like salary that correlate with age
Almost 3 decades at Sabre. I got the boot.
some of mvd senior management (in and out of latin america) doesn't like older people. they would slow your growth, not promote you when they should. even when they changed titles and they claimed they changed them based on experience, it was many people that were classified as non experienced entry level employees after years in the company... they would make comments such as "this employee is too old for the company and should leave, sabre needs young people"...it was a disgrace to hear such a vile statement from a director but it pays off by looks of it. they didn't get fired and should be the first out with these views they have. not to mention their inefficiency in the company
They owe you a list of titles and ages in the severance info.
There were even some in their 20s. Leaders had to hit a salary cap and used a combination of high salaries, tenure, role, location, and performance. If they don't know what an individual does or their value, there's a larger problem behind that. That's why it's important to make yourself and your work seen. No one likes to admit it, but optics do matter in this corporate environment.
