Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Seriously. Tomorrow is a month out. When will they decide that Engage is canceled?

I'm not going to get into the debate of IAUG and if they need to be reinvented or blown up and started anew as suggested. So please hold those comments for the other posts.

I sincerely just want to know when will they 'CALL IT' , either way? Tomorrow marks one month to the scheduled event. Considering people have to cancel air travel, etc.

Are they getting close to the minimum needed? Is there a minimum they promised the paying exhibit sponsors? Or is it no where close and it will definitely be canceled?

Thank you for any/all guidance.

The odds are very much stacked against it being cancelled out right. You'll most definitely see a dramatic scaling back of Avayans attending...No one will be there just to hang out...

The Engage conference is the primary revenue source that sustains Innovatis (the company that manages IAUG...as much as people gripe here, it is an independent organization that cooperates with Avaya but it's more about mutual funding of events and access to Avaya resources and speakers) and they'd get crushed if they lose it for a second straight year.

Most of the costs are already spent/committed at this point...at most you'll save on some travel & entertainment expenses but that's a pebble in a pond...
