Macys always spends to send people to help out in other areas and for travel for these meetings. You will see a freeze on raises and hiring in some instances but I bet Executives will still get their bonuses

Already seeing hours reductions for June as traffic in our store continues to match our inventory levels. Would not be surprised to see changes announced next week given the state of the economy as people are paying more than double what they did for groceries last year. You can wear the same jeans another year but need food every week.

Seems like a lot of the district and regional people are worried. Stores in California sent a bunch of people to Colorado last week to help get ready for a region team visit. They were told they would probably be going back to prep for a visit with Jeff in July. The stores in Colorado are much smaller and the people who went there said the stores looked better than ours. When we asked for a raise we were told that all raises were stopped and hiring froze until July gets here. We have money to send people for a week across the country to prepare stores for visits, but can't hire our open jobs or give raises to stop people from leaving for greener pastures. Seems like there's a good chance that there are some kinda changes coming.

6/1 is the earnings report for Macy’s; but every time we have one, there’s always lots of speculation. Most likely we won’t know what the big changes are until 6/1 or after.
