Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Lost motivation

The way our boss tries to raise our morale is totally wrong - by fear management and telling that we should feel lucky that we still have a job here at all. Do they really think that fear management can still motivate someone to give their best and stay here?

Seriously?
Buckle Up, Buttercup. Do your job. Do it well. Stop needing your constant participation trophies. This is called an overcorrection for the insane lovefest that existed in certain groups prior to our downfall. (Certain, because while all of the real doers were keeping Avaya barely afloat on sp-t and bandaids, one group had the luxury of just hanging out on social media all day and calling themselves tech thought leaders to earn their paycheck). This is called growing up.

Former Avaya employee, get used to it, lots of "tech" company's are like that now, (imo).

That's all they have left. Mine just talks down to all his staff, basically saying he is the only one knows anything, and everyone else is useless. Decided to let him get on with it. Plenty more time for self learning and training for the next role.
