Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Does cut hours mean we could lose our medical coverage?

With hours being cut. Some ppl working 2 days a wk.
We can't maintain a 40 hr average. So can we lose our medical coverage?

Yes. Mine got cut since the beginning of the year so my average is at 25. I was only eligible for dental and vision (as well as random ones I had no interest in)

So no medical but hey at least our vision will be 20/20 and teeth will be healthy. But any real medical issues and we're SOL. And we can't call out because that's just a no-no. So it's a catch 22. It's such a joke. This company is so wack. They (corporate) should be completely ashamed as to how they treat their employees.

Corporate if you're reading this: DO BETTER, people aren't lining up to work at your stores for a reason. Offer medical regardless of hours worked considering your FULL TIME people got their HOURS cut due to incompetent store managers.

/end of rant.

Average hours are for the previous year, I forget the time period. If you were eligible to renew your insurance this past week, then you're good until next May. You must have an average of thirty hours for the year.
