The CEO just does what the activist investors tell him to do, be that unfocused cloud-focus, AI focus (wut?), offshoring, ESGee, or literally changing nothing about direction after a bad revenue year.
LOL! No layoffs in the coming months? There could be 1 to as many as 3 resource actions already in play at any given time. Don’t be fooled by the BS. All companies will do what they feel they need to do at any time regardless of what they tell you. They can just as easily change their mind and say “due to the market and business outlook, we felt this was the best course of action - blah blah blah”…. Take what any CEO tells you wit a grain of salt. Always be ready. Always expect the unexpected, and NEVER EVER assume you are immune or too important to be laid off! No one is too important!!!

Was the "Cloud specialist" sales team impacted? There was an email that went out about Cloud changes again but I only heard and didn't get it myself. From what I was told, sounds like a major change to the Cloud specific roles...

You all are missing the hidden part of GK's message: "No layoffs in the coming months" means "No layoffs in the coming months beyond what has already been set in motion".
