Thread regarding Ricoh layoffs

Ricoh Digital Duplicators coming back?

Rumor is Ricoh is bringing back Duplicators! 5450 loaded back on the website. Hopefully available Q3. So very messy but very reliable and low running cost! Must have been inspired by the film camera come back.
New world of work not working out? Way to kick it old school ricoh!

Yup. All the good ricoh tech is in India. It can run off a battery?

Typical energy consumption: 2 kwh per WEEK! No wonder India sells these! You could run it on a solar panel and Ricoh factory sewage wheel! Great for 3rd world countries.
Next time ricoh exec starts yammering about how green initiatives ask them about these boxes.

Menusha (Ricoh India 2.0/Wannabuyarolex) sells ‘em now. Flying off the shelves. Forecast 2023 numbers @ 100 quadrillion rupees?

These things put “Energy Star” compliance to shame! Kilowatt per hour like a 40 watt lightbulb? These boxes are so cool.

These things are cheap to run and reliable. The problem is you can't make money off service contracts. There is money in the ink and masters, but in the past overall these were money losers as sales would tend to write service contact based on a copier contract. Often even a single call can wipe out all the profit for the year or longer.

150 pages per minute! 170,000 pages per month. Running cost less than a penny/page? I could sell 100 of these, easy!
