I started working at Shopify over 10 years ago, when the company was still growing and seen as the new player on the scene. Today, a week before I was set to go on parental leave for our second child, I was let go along with many other. It's an unfortunate way to end a career.

What I am hearing is it seems most employees in Germany are axed. No one knows for sure, but estimates between those cut are at 80-90%. Lots of software engineers here.
Germany was a smaller Shopify location, overall.
Another one trick pony who thought their shyde didn't stink. The software grindhouse is going the way of the electronics manufacturing and factory jobs that have vanished.
