Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Ireland Business Update

Most curious how such a post was allowed to be removed.

This is THE Layoff .com.
And Avaya layoffs have all been precipitated by "business update" emails.

🙏for our EIRE friends.

So the 25th of August is the date to remove 55 staff.

After that weekend will the Galway office see a new dawn?

Say morale is at an all time low, worse than the Nortel sinking.

Sure Masking Tape will flap and squirt about diarrhea place to work and all the customers ......

All quiet, the Irish are delighted to be losing their jobs?

What's actually happening in Galway?

by

Post ID: @musg+1n1jGXNn

Any updates on this?

Are the remaining staff getting a retainer or rise?

CEO going on us television to discuss business in India. Is he part of this upcoming CEO event in India?
No secret jobs are going to India.

I sent emails to IRE Bloomberg employment writers. I encourage you all do the same.
Locate them via Google search of _____ publication name, then keywords such as ____layoffs, employment, employment law, technology, Galway employment growth, etc. Most are out of Dublin. You can even send a query to the website to try to locate a team that may cover.

Still no news on local media about 56 jobs getting cut as a cost cutting exercise.

How does Galway Avaya manage this?

Shameless behaviour from HR and directors.

Remaining staff got to be asking what's worth staying for.

Marketing cuts, but they have yet to be formally announced.

by

Post ID: @7eao+1n1jGXNn

All quiet on the western front. What teams are being cut?

by
|
Post ID: @7pba+1n1jGXNn

Yes severance pay.

Nortel 5 + 2 means 5 weeks salary per year + 2 weeks from government

Avaya 3 + 2 means 3 weeks salary per year + 2 weeks from government

Less tax unfortunately

by
|
Post ID: @6pwu+1n1jGXNn

Nortel 5 + 2
Avaya 3 + 2

What does this mean? How severance is calculated?

by
|
Post ID: @6qra+1n1jGXNn

Nortel 5 + 2
Avaya 3 + 2

Severance should be rounded off or matched.

Time to bring in a legal team, never mind this employee representative bluffing.

They are sacking 56 people on a lie.

The IDA and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment in Ireland, Simon Coveney, needs to be involved ASAP.

Kudos to everyone said PL in Galway on Monday morning.

HR kudos for taking the Avaya side and not the employees who can f3ck 0ff.

Kudos to those leaving without a fuss, just get out already.

Kudos to those staying on, turkeys waiting for Christmas.

Kudos again to HR for sh1tt1ng on everyone in Galway and being clinical about it.

Kudos to all the staff saying nothing as friends of 20+ years get shafted.

Kudos to you all.

Did I say kudos, must be the end of the matter so.

As it becomes clear who is getting thrown out of their jobs in Galway, the reasons that TZ gave are just lies. The guy is a spoofer buying himself time as he is useless.

The rats in Galway HR and management go along with it and couldn't care less. They lie that they care and fought for severance, they fought for nothing, spineless lackeys.

It was about cost reduction and buying time for incompetent management.

The actual laughing face of AM on his all employee call yesterday was sickening. How can anyone have any faith in Avaya with him carrying on like this, a disgrace.

No morals or loyalty. Pity the grads and interns expected to shovel CCaaS out to customers.

Galway Management shameful

There is a reason there is a chief HR person from Eire.
Not because tis person can navigate where Avaya needs the most help with personnel which is clearly the US (did any of you see that lawsuit in New York?)

They have an HR Head from the region because of the consequence of laying people off in Eire. It is a strategy because there are MANY laws and obligations to the country and local community if Avaya makes the ill-advised decision to depart.

@5tun+1n2xeN2X said it accurately.

ZT is just following his Mitel playbook. No original thought. Just brainless canadian company copycat. Send development to India as he observed his Mitel leaders do.
Avaya isn't Mitel. Foolish move.
Middle East so hates Ireland. Always has. So they are just the muscle.
Laws are Laws. Fight for your rights.

by
|
Post ID: @6aep+1n1jGXNn

That's the Middle East Mafia. They have enormous egos now because they can blackmail CEO and others because they hid assets outside of US to enable Chapter 11.
They also dont know the laws in Ireland and EU. Avaya was granted SIGNIFICANT tax credits and grants to operate out of Galway. That comes with laws they must follow. The chief Mob boss has ALWAYS despised Ireland. And he lives lawlessly.

Bullying and Gaslighting those losing their jobs.
Classic Avaya cult.
Classic.
Blowhard.

I'm having trouble understanding why you would want to strike for jobs that you hate in a company that you hate. What do you hope to achieve? Do you think you'll get more recognition than the thousands of people who have already been laid off? There is no logic to this at all. Galway will be a distant memory if you go through with this strike.

by
|
Post ID: @6fcb+1n1jGXNn

Off site gathering this evening to plan for strike action in Galway, you will receive an email at 7.30pm asking for your private email so that we can send you details, do not use your Avaya laptop to access these strike instructions.

by
|
Post ID: @5ljq+1n1jGXNn

Galway should go on all out strike. Instead of us all complaining about the process we should take action. Do you agree?

by
|
Post ID: @5rhu+1n1jGXNn

Those of us on Nortel contracts are sorted.

Pity the ones on Avaya contracts, they get a lot less and there is no one fighting for them to get more either.

Employee representatives are just a waste of time as everything is planned months ago and set in stone.

This was well setup and should be challenged as it's a lie that it is role based sackings.

What a filthy process in Galway

Post ID: @5kjm+1n1jGXNn

Not even voluntary.

Guess they would have a 100 plus asking to leave.

Whole thing stinks, Apollo ordered this and they lie about it being skills based.

Karma will bite them eventually.

by
|
Post ID: @3lce+1n1jGXNn

India. Jobs going to india. It will cost more and get nowhere. But Apollo gets a spreadsheet savings in short term and that is all they care about.
And don't forget the power of the middle east. They are the keeper of the secrets that enabled the Chapter 11 filing. He is chief mob boss and everyone else is just the acting face of avaya

by
|
Post ID: @1rrj+1n1jGXNn

Just cut all of that reclusive Workspaces group. That would be a major positive step in aligning the company for growth.

Post ID: @1vcr+1n1jGXNn

So all the saggy old staff with families will be removed and replaced with 20 something staff on lower salary with no families so can work 60 hour weeks.

DPTW running down the back of Waserak's leg after his latest all employee a$$ spew.

Hopefully Avaya removes this fool and his yes people once he 'earns' his millions bonus.

by

Post ID: @1mll+1n1jGXNn

Payoff and some summer off.

No more BS from Avaya.

All good really.

Wait Wait

Only Avaya US filed for bankruptcy protection. Remember? International was thriving according to statements at the time.

Most interesting how the narrative flips and flops throughout this controlled con job.

Shah? Shah? The women behind the LACK of INTERNAL CONTROLS just skates

The absolute state of Workspaces, Oceana etc etc.

No one in their right mind wants to use this haphazard welded together junk.

Cuts have to happen as A Mas et al need their bonuses. My god that man spews such bullsh1t whilst flapping his arms about. Talks about nothing for hours on end.

Sorry to those getting the chop.

Post ID: @xxm+1n1jGXNn

Anytime Masarek, or any other leader for that matter, says that they care…ask them how much equity they have and when you can expect to be made whole for the shares that were stolen from you.

Until that’s answered, nothing else should really matter.

by
|
Post ID: @dya+1n1jGXNn

They couldn't care less.

Listening to this dragon saying they care, what a liar.

Shameless Avaya

Seriously do you still believe in Alan or what he says, he sold you out long ago but kept you sweet so that he could achieve his and PE objectives. Move on fast Avaya people

by

Post ID: @ujd+1n1jGXNn

Alan came in saying “No Bankruptcy” as he is the turn-a-round expert, turns out he’s really just a locomotive conductor of the slowest train wreck in history.

Galway office and RnD to be sold all other work areas, sales, support etc to be laid off..

Post ID: @enl+1n1jGXNn

Avaya has a history of trying to hire quick fixes.
Just because one person led a group at Genesys doesn't mean Avaya can suddenly go all cloud.
It's been a long time problem with talent. Avaya hires and says "Check", Next.
They don't enable or empower or practically accept the realities of the situation

by
|
Post ID: @qkc+1n1jGXNn

I'd be stunned if ZT even knows where Ireland is. His tenure at Avaya has been a complete and utter failure !

by
|
Post ID: @vwv+1n1jGXNn

Read up on anything Avaya promised Ireland or Galway as part of the agreement to doing business in the area. Many tax breaks and incentives. With Apollo behind everything, know Apollo is very willing to break rules and take the risk of consequence.
