You can search to see if a TAA petition was filed by an employee in the past and if the judgement is still valid at the following website:

Please post if you have more information about other locations.

On Oct 5, 2023 there were layoffs in USA locations. USA layoffs occur in Feb, June, Oct. There were layoffs in Murray Hill, New Jersey (in MN and IT) and remote workers (in CNS) as far as I know. Not sure exactly how many in USA. Wonder if we can get the information from the "Freedom Information Act" on the exact number of people laid off, their age, their employment title, etc.

Doesn't look like WARN notice was triggered. It gets triggered when there are at least 50 full-time/part-time employees laid-off.

For those who were laid-off: take a look at the "older topics" at the bottom of the page, has useful information like TAA: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/133mOIEa

https://www.dol.gov/general/topic/training/tradeact

You should call NJ DOL for more information and Nokia HR has to send NJ DOL a list of people who qualifies for TAA. Nokia HR will not do this voluntarily so you have to keep nagging them by emailing them and calling them. You need to do this before your 60 days notice period expires.

The Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) Program
Look into TAA. Get extra months of unemployment, training, and health care insurance savings. Once Nokia HR sends NJ DOL a list of name of people who qualify for TAA, you will get an introduction presentation from NJ DOL. Take advantage of this especially if you only have a year or two before your official 100% retirement qualification for full social security.

if you are training someone oversees where your job is being outsourced then file a petition. Save all your documents (emails, meeting notices, etc.) for proof.

Also, there is a career helper program Nokia offers for free. Sign up and attend the sessions. There is valuable information especially if you are looking for a job after 10+ years. They also help you with your resume writing and review it.
