Any long time employees know that Barnes has a horrible reputation and no one else will hire them. They sat back like lackeys when they saw good people laid off and knowing they were horrible for just feeling relieved it wasn’t them.
My manager told us not to talk to anyone about the company or our wages or we would be fired. I've been in contact with organizers.
I doubt this will materialize.
- B&N has always been notorious for union-busting.
- The employees are mostly temporary as B&N likes them to be so they don't have to keep giving raises. These people don't care about anything.
- The people who have been there the longest are either lazy or cowardly to do anything like this. Management has been rolling over employees for decades.
Everyone in our store but the managers have been talking about this,
We'll see how it goes.
