Corebridge is just Lipstick on a Pig. CB is still majority owned by AIG, 75%+. AIG is doing the same thing it did a few years ago when AIG caused the Economic Crisis. AIG changed the name of and spun-off the Private Equity business and renamed it Pinebridge, but it's still majority owned by AIG the parent. AIG is laying off people every single year since it F-ed Up itself, its customers and the world Economy. People seem to forget that AIG caused the Economic Crisis and Recession in 2008. AIG was vilified by the media and people worldwide, with protests and riots. AIG took US$183 Billion in taxpayer money in order for it to Not go bankrupt. The USA should have let AIG fail and saved Lehman instead! The media, journalists and protesters were appropriately calling AIG, PIG, AIG = Adventures in Greed. AIG went so far as to temporarily change its official name to Chartis Insurance as a euphemism to try to stem all of the backlash and protests. After 2014, the PIG changed its name back to AIG once it thought the protests and riots decreased. You can put Lipstick on a PIG, but it's STILL A PIG !

What manager do you think has any influence over those things?

Do you really think anyone below executive management decides to RIF people to help their STI?

It doesn't work that way. At best a manager has input on who after being given a number to hit. Not always.

Sometimes the only role is delivering the message they are told to deliver and picking up the pieces.

@sqm+1pAajS2C You’re so full of it. No managers I know relish layoffs. It is tough every time we are forced to do it. Unfortunately, it’s a part of doing business now.

No CB layoffs until next year well after the migration is complete. Once the 3rd party groups (you know who) gets fully going, then you will see some quiet send offs. Be patient.....the end for some, will be at hand soon enough.

It is that time of the year where the management cherishes laying off in masses to book their bonus for this year because it is the employees that can be riffed to show how the managers have achieved superior performance not by the quality of work rather by layoffs. Managers take great pleasure and wait for this time if the year. Expect a 10% chop between now and December. All silently happens without anybody noticing. Anyways upper management is talking about laying off employees and secure the bonus.

Since it is a separate company they should track at the root with other companies.
