Thread regarding Accenture layoffs

Accenture Bench Peril

The minute you hit the bench the clock is ticking on you.

If you're on the bench for more than a couple of weeks questions start to be asked about what's wrong?

The Partners and Senior Managers watch the productivity measurements like hawks.

You can't wait for someone to contact you with a new role. you have to be assertive to find one. That can mean compromise as far as what you're looking for in a new role ( i.e., location, market segments, travel requirements, etc.).

Accenture's operating model is not for everyone. If you can't consistently stay engaged on account work then it's probably time to move on to another career pursuit.

Accenture and other competitors are and have always been a pyramid scheme or really pi-ps. There is a base cost to each role and each MD is charged for the resources on projects and they must charge a client for your services for a certain percentage return to cover your costs and anything else is gravy. If you are not an expert in your area then they can’t charge top dollar and make their targets. So if you do not have skills then you are worthless to them. If you can’t help billing, you are worthless to them.

The only way you can escape this is if you kiss a lot of top bosses that give you non project WBS that passes off as chargeable. Or you are well connected to COOs or ATCI, as they seem to have ways to churn out WBS.

It’s a company within a company…. You stay as long as you continue billing and bring back profits. Literally one is a contractor except being on a much smaller salary ;-).

If out of being engaged, the noose gets tighter by the minutes. PIP is another tool used to show the door. So know your place…

Is that you HR??? Trying to front run the headcount you want out so you don't have to find your compassion or voice to push back when you do the real ROI of the massive turniver that accenture has that costs the shareholder in the end. And destroys lives.
