Thread regarding Hess Corp. layoffs

WOW

I was so loyal to Hess, have never worked for a better company and I am in my 50’s. I completely forgot that the only people that really matter are the large stock holders, I feel gutted!

Yep the 25 to 30 year guys were excited to get away from the woke Hess culture. Ran by a bunch of buffoons who didn't know what a polish rod or stuffing box was. These workers got fired, then they got double severance and now they can go home and collect their pension. Couldn't have work out better for the people that endured the last 10 years with the company.

I watched 30 year plus people excited with the COVID layoff, with no "reward for a great career", employees that moved their families around the world with the promise of a great career, BOTH exited with nothing but a box, a severance package and HR sitting in the office while you gather your things. This will happen again and those that leave will find a job somewhere else. It will get better. That is how this industry is!

Prob survived many layoffs, but because affected others but not you, you thought they cared.

It is disheartening to hear and read everything with no mentions of employees. Even knowing how greedy the corporate world, I've never felt less than with Hess. Now though? It's a gut punch. Every day. I hope they get on with it. Just get the hires/severances done. Do not string everyone along.
