Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

A Real Business Transformation

What if we could choose someone else from the ELT to become CEO? If were to make TR CEO and shut down BT, employee morale would shoot up like never before. We would be inspired again and feel like we could have a real career again. Top performers would be recognized and our productivity would increase.

TR would never have sat there in a Global Town Hall with a straight face trying to convince everyone that what the graph in front of you shows is Business Transformation is working. I’m talking about the no-story graph that clearly showed our stock exactly tracking with peers and the “synthetic blend” of stocks to simulate PSX. The one where we were dead center throughout, except a tiny bit lower in the beginning and a tiny-bit-higher-if-you-look-closely-enough-with-a-magnifying glass at the end. Who comes up with an insane talking point like that?

We all understand what the ELT is saying about Business Transformation. We just don't buy into that BT is necessary or that it will make P66 great and a great place to work.

Folks, you don’t get it. We don’t deserve to exist if we can’t beat that synthetic portfolio 100% of the time. If we don’t, then investors can just replicate what we do by investing in our competitors. It really is not a hard concept.

Let’s start a go fund me for the golden parachute. Bring the Go-away!

I had just started my career at the time of the corporate raids. I was like almost everybody else in that I fully supported our efforts to remain independent. Of course in those days, management didn’t go around laying off people in very good economic times. Today I would jump at the chance to sell my stock at a premium.

Is it the mark of Mark or Mackenzie?

I only saw the second half of the town hall - enough to see survey results and the Bring the Go ad. So glad we could save so much money to make such a lame corporate propaganda video for the prospective employees we’re not hiring.

I visited the P66 museum in Bartlesville on the same day as the town hall. Anybody confused by the “The future of the company is not positive “ feedback needs to visit the museum for perspective on what P66 USED to be.

Anybody willing to picket to stave off a corporate buy-out? Any internal initiatives to make 100% of employees stock owners?

Whatever the golden parachute cost, it would be worth it to get rid of him.

We have a choice here: We can believe what ELT is telling us about Business Transformation or we can believe what our lying eyes are telling us about BT.
I’m going to believe my lying eyes!

They won’t remove the current CEO because that would be facing up to the fact the BT is a failure and they made a mistake in appointing him.
They would rather destroy the company rather than admit to mistakes.
