Thoughts? Any Oracle layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

These changes expected to happen to OCIā¦ are they layoffs? or is it going to be just a lot of moving people around?
Something brewing in OCI. Buckle up! Change is near.
I was laid off on 2/1 with I believe ~20 other people from the advertising organization.
IT’s been sliding under the bus for years. Back in the day there was a help line you could call to actually speak to someone. They’ve been gone for a long time now.
Apparently, most internal IT support teams have just been replaced with an AI chatbot.
He’s been throwing people under the bus for years. Do what you need to do for yourselves.
Pattern I have observed from forums, internal news and friends from other divisions is, slow small layoffs,(sometime big), across different BU/division at regular intervals.
Layoffs across divisions has a shorter interval, currently its around 1.5 months to 2 months. This may be lower as I might not have all the news about layoffs.
Teams those are recently impacted does not see another one for a longer time yet the cycle repeats at longer intervals. The interval in my team has been around 13 months and most impact in US only, later replaced by cheaper resource elsewhere but never a single replacement in US.
All this is to ensure these number remain small and not highlighted in media. Back in days when there was a massive one, ORCL got a very bad reputation and impacted bottom line significantly. Since then it has been slow small layoffs at regular intervals
I hate to say it, I survived 6-7 layoffs but I have to manage good terms with my boss and work like he-l all the time. Please do not judge me, I have family to take care. am just one of like you. I know lot of good people were let go coz they have their own voice, and were certainly better than me.
I tried to raise my voice diplomatically but failed as others were not supportive, so in a way employees themselves are working against each other by not being united and work towards a better work-life and ethics.
Putting pressure on management affects those who are abused. Particularly if they look away and don’t care how the results are gotten but still know.
People destroyed other people's minds and lives... and they thought it was funny. They thought it was a real laugh.
Evil, true evil. Worthless filth disguised as human beings.
Got to know from a top VP, there will small many of them across all BU's rather than a big major one. This is to ensure no highlights giving ORCL a bad reputation.
I don’t believe that there will be substantial layoffs until June.
Anyone with a call with their manager booked for tomorrow?
I heard they are going to be chopping different depts from GBU's in half.
Thanks for the Fedex tip. I may do it, but apparently I have to read through TWO different terms of service agreements to accept it. This seems like a lot of work just to have a one day earlier notice of when I can start celebrating.
Any rumors of CORE being affected?
This is still very early in 2024. Today’s layoffs are just the start!
So much more to come!
There’s another post from todays layoff
Very quiet, feels like something coming
I really hope so. It feels like an eternity.
Lay me off and get it over with please.

Folks, in order to get a notification of a FedEx package, you need to sign up for FedEx Delivery Manager. Go to the website to sign up.
Then, any time FedEx has a package for your address (regardless of whom from or whom to), you get email. If you sign in from the app, you also get a phone notification.
This has NOTHING to do with Oracle or anyone else but FedEx. And it’s based on address only.
Oracle likely paid the 15th MLK holiday as part of this check, even though it went out on Friday.
Our pay cut off date was Jan 5th, I got the direct deposit today. The strange thing is, the amount today was higher than I normally get on a bi-weekly basis? it seems as if I got paid for another week...I had no notice on salary bump or a bonus. Is this a red flag? They paid the extra week and lay off by the 16?
I don't know about you, but I really wanna know what happened with the "FedEx package alert from Oracle for a Jan 12 delivery" guy.
Was it just a late Christmas present?
It is not worth playing this guessing game. Enjoy the time as long as it lasts. There are not many of us left in US anyways to be laid off. Once every one is laid off, Will not be surprised if they start doing wholesale transfers on L1 visa to move folks from india to US.
The 16th was also mentioned here.
Well, the 15th is a holiday in the US, so I find that to be very unlikely.
From the silence I guess the 15th is the date
Did anything happen today or is it going on tomorrow?
That "FedEx package alert"...did it come by email?
Unfortunately, I did not receive one. Maybe it was just an oversight, and I will still have a meeting with my manager today.
Won't layoffs happen on 15th
Be thankful you got laid off. I suffered through 16 years at oracle. Most with a GBU. I still have PTSD from working for some of the vermin. Even if you get laid off and have no immediate new job and have to use savings, you will feel better inside not being around the filth. Believe me. It gets better when you get away from the oracle mgmt crust.
Which departments??
What areas?
Big day tommorrow.
Just received a FedEx package alert from Oracle for a Jan 12 delivery. I assume I will be laid off tomorrow Jan 11.
Is this month's layoff date still the 11th?
It’s what I’ve heard internally. Dunno, true or not for sure.
It’s 2024 and I’m proud to say that not one Oracle manager ever helped me achieve anything in my professional career. If anything, they sabotaged it. The entire lot of those b-ms should be let go. Most of them are just there to approve vacation.

"We recorded $243 million of restructuring expenses in connection with the 2024 Restructuring Plan in the first half of fiscal 2024 and we expect to incur the majority of the estimated remaining $366 million through the end of fiscal 2025"
So you gotta figure 50% more layoffs (spread across the next 5 months) than all the layoffs that happened in the first half (the first 7 months really) of this fiscal year. Gonna be bumpy.
Is this month's layoff date still the 11th?
"I hate it when there are layoff rumors."
Try to think of it like the musical chairs game you played as a kid. Don't think of it like hunger games - too depressing.
