I think people overestimate the power of Dir through VP. All the power is currently at the ELT+board level

I wouldn't be surprised if the next site to fully close is Foster City.

I've been following this site for a bit, and I've noticed all the posts defending the executive team/VPs have broken english, weird punctuation, and/or odd sentence structures.

Suspicious.

VPs and leadership are the reason for all of these bad decisions and current state of layoffs. It’s WILD to me that illumina can continue blaming macroeconomic conditions while retaining the exact leadership that put the company in this situation. It’s destined to fail if the same VPs, board, and execs remain in charge.

It was important for the company to extend $200K as bonus to VPs. They drive all the executions and change implementations. A good coordination among them is very crucial for the company like illumina that has business and litigations globally.

The inflation is high, they shouldn't be worried for their personal finance and living pay check to pay check. Replacing the VP is a complicated task. It's a very risky affair to deal with attrition at that level, ( understand we have lot many changes at c level)

Stay hopeful and expect 10x growth here by 2030. As you know the management gets input continuously from 3rd party consultation services. Don't think much about VP bonuses. It's not a great % of revenue that they have been generating for years.

$200k retention bonus?!?! They don't need that.... Shouldn't they be lucky they still have a high paying job? What about retention bonuses for the rest of us who have tackled more responsibilities during these years of uncertainty??

Bad management. Lack of integrity. Act opposite of code of conduct.

Haven't heard any RIF in commercial and marketing yet. Are we done with RIF Illumina wide or more RIF is coming in Q1? Any info?

Hearing VPs may have gotten $200k retention bonus.

Which VPs?

Yes, very high profile VP's were let go at least in R&D.

It is called common courtesy and proper communication that your VP organize a meeting and describe the reasoning and strategy behind the RIF's. We haven't seen that happen with this new regime.

Zero contact from leadership in marketing!

Also wondering about marketing and commercial... We have had ZERO communication from our VPs (or even direct managers) here in marketing....
