Thread regarding Eastman Chemical Co. layoffs

rumors of today

Heard several buildings in kpt got hit today. No word on numbers. But with the extreme cost-cutting going on - I would say it's probably true.
Failure of "leadership" right now and no tolerance for any arguments.
Also, heard some folks last week took a voluntary package.

This management is not doing fiduciary duty. Investors beware. There are smoke and mirrors going on. This company and Costa cuts are destroying the infrastructure of this company and demoralizing the region. Many of you are responsible. Cox, Carrie Parker, Crawford, Bogle, Caveness, Gibbons, but mostly BOD and Costa. Shame on you. Limited hourly and salaried resources in the region and you have demoralized them all.

20 year consultant, hired consultants. Cut contractor pay. Massive turnover started happening. Held first line accountable rather than admitting mistake. First line had no say in it. Had to take some jobs back as emn. Then...without consulting, cut the work keys test and lowered entry level pay while holding first line accountable for incidents. The region is limited. You have laid off talented salaried and demoralized hourly. Now all you can do is lower standards for entry into the plant and hold first line accountable. Also, all of the capital items, you pause and send workers home b/c you have not guts. The region suffers because of costacuts. Look at earnings since 2014 and look at his pay. Does he deserve it? Eastman - the boeing of chemical companies thanks to Mark Costa!

Several people I worked with got packages and people were involuntarily let go. Eastman will be firing the logistics group very soon. Costa is farming out this task and all these folks will receive termination packages in a few months. This is so sad to see this company that I spent my career with doing the things they do now.

Leadership is definitely failing some technology related areas. However, there's definitely "some arguments" being tolerated. There's a few toxic employees that are being given countless chances while adjacent areas are laying off others in those groups. The reasoning is baffling.

Several from Finance/Accounting and Logistics. Shipping more jobs to India and Mexico City probably. Business is dying, morale is terrible. So glad I jumped ship years ago. Costa is the absolute worst and the BOD needs to give him and that overpaid Executive Team the boot.
