Thread regarding Pearson PLC layoffs

Back to office

So Boundless is making us go into an office now. No more working from home. This was a rough week driving into Chandler from BFE. I left early bc rff it. It’s Friday and I’m not spending 1.5 hours in traffic every Friday afternoon. Get used to it, bc that’s going to be me on the reg.

If you’re part of the ELT and a lot of MC’s direct reports, who coincidentally, just “happen” to not be located near any of the new offices that are now open, you’re exempt. How convenient. Meanwhile, I’m driving into an office that’s a 45 minute drive each direction and the wifi was down a few times in the office. You know where it was never down? In my house. But at least I don’t live in Chicago. Those commutes are over an hour long and then you have to pay almost $50 per day for parking. Because the ELT chose a downtown Chicago office location, and not a single person in the area lives downtown. Explain that one. If that’s not the company trying to get team members to quit, I don’t know what is. Open up a DC office if this is really about “community”, “camaraderie” and “unity”. And please, save the nonsense about the 90% of companies going back to work. Here’s a stat…of those companies 80% are hybrid meaning it’s not 5 days per week, it’s only 3 days per week in tne office.

I hate this place.

I cannot believe they did that. It makes no sense. What's the address of the new office? It's not on Google and I'd love to see the name it's leased to!
