Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Manager/Director view

At the time when the CX team was downsized, I served as a manager. Initially, I volunteered to sacrifice my position to save the team. Secondly, I advised my team to update their resumes in response to the leaked information from June, indicating potential cuts, and encouraged them to seek opportunities both within and outside of Oracle, with a preference for the latter. I assured them of my assistance in their job search. I informed them that when the inevitable HR meeting occurred, I would deliver a prepared speech in a composed manner, which ultimately happened after I was let go first. I found HR to be disorganized and overstaffed. Fortunately, my former team appears to be thriving outside of Oracle, utilizing their considerable talents. They have my unwavering support indefinitely.

CX motto from many years now -

exploit employees and squeeze every drop of blood out of them then throw them away.

Management using fear, greed, ego, guilt, humiliation, lying, flattery, etc. tactics to squeeze max out of the resources.

Can you identify what's applied on you? Can you defend yourself from such tactics?

If yes, post it for other people's benefit.

In CX, my team either laid off or people left. Now from 50+ members to just 3 in US and those 3 are asked to work like donkeys literally 24/7

I know the CX team which was eliminated together with its manager and they were tight for over a decade and such thing could have happened. I doubt you are him though.

This post works much better with the interjection of a NOT after each phrase. Try reading it that way. Amazing how much more honest it sounds.

I like the "run" hint. Runaway!

Oracle is a sh---y place to work.

Have anyone noticed each POST ID in this thread has 'run' in between?

Yeah, a random mathematical hint to run away from such managers/directors. See they are not laid off but his team members were.

I have the same observation as below. Who is this lucky team?

You may be a good manager but that's the opposite I have faced personally.

All of my team members left with very bad experience in CX. They are doing very well outside but do not want to be in touch with management.

Yes lies as usual. Stupid people setting up other stupid people. It won’t work any more than anything else has.

Great post. No doubt your team is doing well outside of Oracle they were fortunate to have strong postive leadership.

Polar opposite of the degrading controlling mental illness of the first poster. He calls everybody a liar. Simply because he can’t handle his own truth
Which is much different than his lies.
