Thread regarding Fossil Inc. layoffs

KOSTA 's OUT

Wow. Just Wow.

Not that this not justified considering the disastrous loss of value over the last few years and abysmal leadership....but considering his tenure and that he founded the company with his brother....the press release is so short and dry, it s hard to believe.

End of an era for sure....end of a company too?

If you are sad about the news, you don’t work closely with him. He’s held on to the “good ole’ days” of Kors and Macy’s for way too long and failed to provide any relevant strategic direction over the past ten years. He is insecure at best and a s-xist bully at worst, and I, for one, think this is the only chance Fossil has at surviving.

I agree with other posters - this is actually quite sad. Kosta is a decent man and really cared.

His biggest mistake was however trusting (and hiring) the wrong people. Ironically the same people who will keep sinking the ship while he is gone.

I would have much preferred him staying as Chairman and appointing a new CEO. The way things turned out, the company has no leadership, no skin in the game, just overpaid snakes and spineless consultants feasting on its carcass.

It is sad to hear. Sure Kosta has made some mistakes but got alot of things right and gave it his all.
It was quite a hopping place back in the day and exciting to work there. The apple watch and demographic buying patterns were trends that couldn't be overcome.
