Sorry, don't mean to sound harsh, but it seems you were given peanuts. Providing accommodation such as lodging for essential workers should not be treated as an exception but something that is mandatory.

I'm saying this because when I had to do essential work for a past employer, my hotel and meal expenses were always covered regardless if there were any snowstorms. Management appreciation were shown in the form of bigger bonuses and raises.

If I was you, I'll be looking for a new job and act non-essential (quiet quitting) if I was given only promotional items by upper management. Executives must feel really good about themselves, like they're Santa Claus, having their assistants pull t-shirts and pens from the stock room to give to essential workers. What a bunch of cheapskates.

I remember as an essential worker many times having to drive into work during major snowstorms . So bad were the storms as an essential worker mgmt would book us a room at the nearest motel/hotel, since we had to be on time and available 7 by 24.

And senior mgmt would show their appreciation by giving us gifts.
I have a whole collection of State Street coffee mugs, State street t-shirts.
Basically they just gave us State street promotional items.

I wasn't expecting much maybe a small check for $50.00 to $75.00.

Not sure if it was a coincidence but I clearly remembered when they kicked off the 2011-2012 layoffs, most of the facets in the building had only cold running water. Once in the blue moon, there will be lukewarm water. Never be surprised what the company will do next to make us feel unwelcome to work for THEM. They already have motion detectors installed underneath our desks and they probably have listening devices recording us. We get it, you want us to quit. We hate you too.

Agree 100% the company has used various tricks to force workers out, to reduce their benefits.

I remember seeing some people get promoted from non exempt workers to exempt workers. At 1st they were thrilled because they got an increase in pay averaging from $2.000 to $3,000.00 Until they realized no longer would they get paid for the 10 to 15 hours of OT they worked.

Who knows the next way to cut cost might be installing pay toilets , charging you to park in the company parking lot.

Have anyone noticed that our benefit of (3) Personal Days is given to us a little differently since moving to MyWorkDay?

How it worked before is you can take your Personal days before Vacation days.
We used to be able to request for Personal days at the start of the year. Now, we have to accure for Personal days. This might not sound like a big deal, but if you use your vacation days first and end up quitting, you get less of a payout for accured unused vacation. I don't think this was an oversight. We're getting cheated on what we're entitled for our benefits.

The company encouraging us to send bravo awards to one another
with no value is cheap. When Captain Ron, who made $18M last year, is sending us these none monetary bravo awards that's just being a CHEAPSKATE. I'm willing to bet he's going to get significant more this year after all the layoffs and quiet firings.
