Thread regarding Publicis layoffs

Publicis fined $350 million + $150 million for fraud in the past few years alone

$500 million dollars of fines for frauds in the past few years:

One of the largest global health advertising agencies, will pay $350 million to settle allegations it “developed predatory and deceptive marketing strategies” for Purdue Pharma opi--ds, which the attorney general’s office called the first settlement of its kind involving an advertising agency.

A few years ago Publicis paid $150 million in fines for it's predatory advertising to facilitate elder fraud:

I really want to hear from current on former employees to see how they cope working for a complete scam company. Helping companies push addictive dr-gs, helping shady mortgage companies rip off the elderly - so tat you can make a living!!!

How do you justify working at this company and forgetting all moral principles?

Is there anyone in this company who is willing to stand up and expose the rest of what's going on ?

Let me get this straight.
They paid half a billion dollars in fines in the last 3 years !!!!

Just imagine what kinds of profits they must have made.

Y'all should ask for bigger bonuses.

Change the title to "Half billion dollars in fines in 3 years" - that would have a greater impact.
For an adtech company this just reeks of unethical behavior.
Layoffs will be coming soon so that the leaders can keep giving themselves raises and stocks.
Jeez!!

5 years and didn't have a clue. Never heard about these within the company.

That's probably the best way to deal with this. Whistle blowing sounds heroic but I don't want the corporate crappzoids destroy my life.

Been here just a couple of years, don't want to stay after reading these two articles. Need to find something decent. I have a feeling the old timers here knew this all along, that's why they seem do pissy and protective of their turfs.

Yuck is an understatement!

Wish I had known this before I accepted their offer recently. It's disgusting. As worker bees we know nothing about this. I haven't heard anything from my colleagues either. Most of them look like decent folks doing their job in their little silo.

Only marketing folks and maybe machine learning folks must be aware of this. The techies are just tech-ing.

Hope the market improves soon. Won't stay long. Unfortunately we have to bear this for a bit - can't afford nor having a job.

Yuck!

No wonder this company shows record profits and record growths.

For the employees of this criminal org - imagine how they will treat you if they treat the sick and old people like this,

Every salary you are drawing, every bonus you are getting is off the lives of some poor souls and it's on you.
