Thread regarding Express Inc. layoffs

No severance?

Layoffs!! Layoffs!! Layoffs!! All areas affected. NO severance.

Is Express really now getting rid of people without giving them severance? I don't think it's possible to stoop lower than that. I feel really bad for my former coworkers if this turns out to be true.

Glad I got out of IT at Express when I did years ago. They ran my team into the ground under terrible leadership. HR and C level didn't care and allowed it. They kept trying to get people to stay with offers of stock that never grew in value.

Express has undergone restructuring almost every year, with significant layoffs beginning in 2023. The distribution center that supports Express stores also reduced its workforce due to a decrease in store numbers and workload. Entire departments have been eliminated, and others have been reduced to the point where they can barely function. The payroll department has been completely disbanded, raising concerns about whether paycheck issues will be resolved. The entire cafe staff has been let go, so taking a two-hour lunch break is inevitable since that’s how long it will take to eat out at Easton. For those of us who remain, as long as my paycheck keeps coming I will stay and I will continue to do minimal work because the additional responsibilities have become overwhelming. Thanks, Chicken Man!
