"Senor Manager" would be a great title for a telenovella.

The level of incompetence in IT leadership is staggering! Have Suren, Zulfie and Kamal hit any objectives? Crazy ideas, old and outdated organizational changes, huge agile teams without scrum masters, software engineers who are called upon to determine requirements and perform PM activities and an architectural unicorn. It is sad how these incompetent mo--ns are decimating not just IT but Allstate as a whole.

Yes, Allstate laid off all scrum masters yesterday. They promised these scrum masters to move into different role however they are known to not keep any promises. The numbers in Allstate really matters and they finally kicked all scrum master out of their organisation yesterday.

People here are missing something. There were layoffs in May. The Allstate layoff cycle is April/May, June/July, and October. It's a reminder that executive leadership literally has but one move and it does it routinely.

You have 3 months to prepare for the next round.

This will be 2024 Round 1. 2024 Round II will likely come 3Q when they realize they still aren't meeting numbers and refuse to address the root cause of why.

As I saw on another thread: You're never safe here-unless you're one of those middle management a-s kissers/yes people who keep feeding the senior managers what they want to hear. Keep your resume and skills updated and ring your professional network for employment so you can leave on your terms.

Remember the blood bath last October and how were all told that we'd made the organization flatter and WAY more efficient and now by golly we were poised for explosive delivery speed and growth? When they laid off 8% of the workforce without regard to performance, just to reach a certain number? Remember the layoff before that and the one before that? What's the definition of insanity again?

Cuz: sPeED iS oUr SuPERpoWer. To do the same thing we've been doing for decades.

‘Can’t believe anything you read on this site. No way folks were laid off today. Company’s at a halt with crowdstrike.’

Wrong! There WERE layoffs today, people I personally know. I was laid off several months back and am still in touch with ex-colleagues so this news is from the horses’ mouths

What was the severance of those souls impacted? Let's finally put that bit of business to rest.

Usually the first wave comes in June/July, the remainder in mid-October. If you think you may get impacted, manager acting weird... take action. Resume up-to-date, network, start applying now while you have a job. If you're waiting for a package, well...it's better to leave a job while you have one, but you do you.

More coming for certain in October. Whether there are more this week? That's not typical of Allstate. They like to wrap up in 1 day where possible, but nothing is certain.

Mgmt canned response is they don't know of anymore coming. Truth is we really don't know when it will happen. There is no job security.
