Thread regarding Fossil Inc. layoffs

Frustrated

I can’t help but feel totally frustrated by the current state of our leadership. It seems like our decision-makers (ELT/SLT) are increasingly disconnected from what truly matters for our success. Instead of focusing on fostering innovation and supporting our talented teams, they are relying heavily on A&M consultant. This misguided reliance on consultants has shifted our focus to BS waste-of-time metrics.

Leadership needs to listen to the voices within the company and prioritize the needs of our customers. The morale is at an all time low and no one seems to give a shxx. If we don’t course-correct soon, we risk losing the very essence of what makes us who we are, and we could find ourselves facing bankruptcy or worse.

I left years ago. Just leave! When you are there it’s easy to put fossil on a pedestal and be hurt by all the annoying/typical things fossil has done for years and years. Leadership is inept? Surprise, surprise, they have been for a while. If it’s impacting your mental health it’s time to go. Lots of companies out there. Fossil is not special. Hasn’t been for 10+ years.

You might be surprised. Not all of the "layoffs" that I've seen are a 'layoff' in the traditional sense.

when the next big layoff should happen? which region is most likely to be affected? and which levels of jobs? more VP, high management fucntions?

I believe it's becoming increasingly likely that Fossil Group will file for bankruptcy. Has anyone else noticed that we’re now appearing on lists alongside other stores and brands that might not make it through the year?
