How to work with two-faced

No doubt on capability, however, well behaved in front of managers or those in power, and throws you sh-t whenever no one else is around. While this is normal in any corporate setting, it has been mentally exhausting to dealing with it on daily basis, should I just quit?

It depends. Will the financial burden of not having an income for potentially the next 6-12 months (this is a bad job market after all) be worse for your mental health than the two-facedness you’re experiencing? If the financial burden is worse, I’d keep my job until I find a better offer. If I can afford to bite the financial bullet, and unfortunately the potential scrutiny of having an employment gap, I’d quit.

Good luck to you if you are in Manila - toxic HR that functions without much consideration. They are a cartel who keep nothing in confidence; they will discuss things loudly over lunch to ensure nothing is hidden from anyone. Save yourself because no one else will if you don’t.

I wrote to the ELT about bullying - got no response. The company is led by 2 faced people who are purely interested in inflating stock price regardless of fundamentals/ employee experience. You are better off leaving if experiencing mental harassment- will only be a matter of time before you discover that 2 faced leadership and cronyism/ yes ma’am mentality is now common at factset regardless of department/ region.

If you can- depersonalize and avoid 1-1 engagement with the said people. Avoid HR like the plague on this given the propensity to play games. Move to a different department if possible or plan an exit to a different company. I repeat - do NOT trust HR with this - they are savage and led by ELT who are focused on cost cutting. They will find fault with you instead of those actually at fault - quit on your own terms once you’ve planned for quitting financially and emotionally.
