Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Bumpy ride ahead

Hang on for a bumpy ride. Management is already communicating reorganization ideas to their direct reports without factoring in that the other shoe hasn’t dropped.

  • Stating they will off load to other departments without knowing what impact the VSP has had on those departments.
  • Assuming they all still have their jobs and not considering management consolidation due to overall head count reduction.
  • People changing jobs inside the company right after the VSP and the turmoil caused by that reshuffle.
  • Large learning curve for new hires/backfills.

And I’m sure that I’ve missed plenty of other things!

At&t stores are empty, tmobile stores are empty. nobody is buying phones or switching now. IT is way too large for this low revenue friends.

Total mess. No leadership and no one wants to take ownership of anything.
