Allstate is quadrupling the India reps. If you are a claim rep, prepare for more issues and to be blamed for customer frustration. I will say some of the reps are good but they are impossible to connect with and customers simply are not pleased.

I am estimating 15,000 out of 40,000 are now in India (2 location I think) . Underwriting non renewals virtual names on the reports from India. RMBC requests for verification of previous insurance/home ownership are there. Auto claim first contact there. Treasury is there. There is a Facebook India Allstate group with over 800,000 members. Allstate's total employee count is 45,780 people. The listed number of employees with Allstate in 2021 was 54,700, 29.74% higher than in 2020. Allstate India 10,000+. Don't get me wrong, I am glad people can get jobs there, however if you read Allstate India job reviews a lot of the same problems are seen in those reviews that are problems here.
How does a stock price get propped up by a diminished cache of dwindling brand recognition?
Wow, if you just look at the stock price and not how artificially it's derived and constantly propped up by rate increases, layoffs, and the diminished cache of dwindling brand recognition, you might make a apple polishing comment about what a wonderful company this must be even as it grows farther and farther behind its competitors every day.
Auto and PIP/MP Processors are seeing our work handed to India. Then told “we will find work for you to do.”
Wow this seems like an awful company. Shareholders must hate us and the stock price must be tanking.
Think about it: When you call an organization, do you enjoy talking to someone who you can't understand and can't understand you? Someone with an obviously Indian accent who calls themselves Dave or Sally or Bob? After getting through to this person through a call tree that probably took you 10-15 minutes of pressing 1 and screaming 'representative' into your phone? Only to repeat the same information to this person that the call tree already asked you to input?
On the tech side, it's about cheap and don't ask questions. You can hire someone from a giant 'talent pool' in India for about 1/4 of what you'll pay someone in the U.S. and you have the added advantage that they will do exactly what they are told, work 24/7 and not push back on any of the id--tic practices flowing down from management. They won't argue. And that's what Zulfi and Kamal want: yes people. Not collaborative, engaged employees: yes people. It's Allstate has always rewarded and they're just reestablishing it all levels. The last reorg put the Allstate cheer squad in director/SVP positions and the 'influencers' are hand picked a-s kissers. All they're going 'influence' is the status quo and telling the seniors what they want to hear.
Meanwhile, ever more dynamic markets keep passing Allstate by and their competitors keep pulling ahead of them. You'd think somebody'd get a clue sooner or later, but not with the culture they have now.
Unfortunately, they’re doing it in every facets of the organization. Even in tech we let go of some US engineers and are actively looking in India.
This behavior is also not just limited to Allstate, that’s the worst part. Every company is doing the same. We got nowhere to go.
