Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Not transparent layoffs

During the huddle this morning, our bank president was showered in praise for being so transparent? Transparency in what?

From my view we have yet again laid off all the wrong employees. All of the all-star EMG fled the scene this spring.

There was no transparency in how many. No transparency in how the decision was made nor who made the final decisions.

What scary is that either the same clowns running consultanting on the RCSA are giving guidance on how to view layoffs. Or even worse, this D-List squad of EMG that’s left over here in the bank called the shots.

Yes I’m looking at you enterprise leaders newly brought over to the bank. Yes I’m looking at you outside leaders who continue to surround yourself with all of the id--ts of the bank.

But hey great leaders surround themselves with yes-men and id--ts that recycle the same ideas from the last decade. That’s a strategy that should take us into the next 100 years!

@vnr+1uGphj2a Condolences, comrad. Do NOT wait on anyone for next steps. You must now take action to secure your own future. Start job hunting ASAP. The corp does not care about you. Only you can turn this around. Roll up those sleeves and get after it. You got this!

“This place won’t be here in 5 years” is what I’ve heard people saying for the past almost 20 years that I’ve been at the company. It’ll be here in some capacity. BUT if we continue with non-veteran EVPs and CEOs then we will continue to bask in the mediocrity that the current ones have created and contribute to.

I was let go yesterday. No information, no support. You are part of the expense reduction act, someone will reach out to you at a later time.

No HR rep on my behalf, no real next steps. Just sitting 24 hours later with no plan, no understanding what is next and what I need to do. Most personal thing they can do a person and I am left here trying to understand anything.

What does RCSA stand for? And is this why the senior leadership all "retired"? Very much a shame, Paul Vincent was much better and at least seemed like a human who cared, which you can't say for the latest batch of EMG hires.

I was told by one of the newer EMGs that he wants people from his background (consulting then FAANG) at the company, and that the biggest problem is the lack of culture from the current employees, which is why RTO is needed.... This person has been remote for at least 10 years and got pushed out by the FAANG, but I digress

Did you expect anything different from the bank Pres? He's immature.

Seriously asking for a friend, why do you need a number? If you are close enough to the employee they’ll tell you when they are ready…

Who said anything about putting employees names on a list?

What does sharing meeting times have to do with knowing the total number of employees impacted?

Yes for business continuity purposes it’d seem to make sense to know who was impacted. Not demoralizing; but to reach out. Know who needs support. Expand their network. All of that seems common sense.

lol did @wqd+1uGphj2a just 1) make an anonymous post 2)at night 3) offering no real solutions. You can’t make that kind of hypocrisy up lmao.

Think this proves the OP’s point. LOT of id--ts in the bank. This is hilarious.

looks like we hit a nerve with an EMG trolling the site again. Yes point the finger and have an individual contributor or manager or a director be the solution to lift this sinking ship.

Makes sense if you have any type of business sense. 1- if they give numbers and employees find other roles within the org, they would constantly be changing the data. Seeing how you fools in “leadership” can’t be trusted hence you sharing meeting times clearly for Directors and above, why would they trust you with names and numbers? 2. What employees would want their name on a list? That would feel even more demoralizing. Maybe publish your name so you can be the first one added 3. Might be time for you to stop waiting for your number to be called and move on. You are offer of the problem with USAA, likely one of those second rate directors clinging on for life instead of trying to be apart of the solution. Do us all a favor and move on instead of spending your lonely nights on an anonymous site.

1 - Current board Members needs to be changed.
2 - Need a CEO who has actually "served" our Great Nation.
3 - New EVPs have no exposure to Armed Services so how can they expect to respect company's core values.
4 - 90% of the new leadership(Exec Director title and above) are buddies or close friends of EVPs.

Sounds about right. Douchebaggery is rampant over there. When are they going to can the “leaders” who caused all the issues? Not all of them quit, or got their holden parachute. Some of them are clinging to this sinking ship like a barnacle.
