Thread regarding USAA layoffs

High performers don't stick around USAA anymore

They are leaving in droves. Why stick around when you know that being a high performer and good at what you do will not shield you from layoffs?

Why bother when the top performers are rated low so they can pay less. Several members on the team received pme’s that were not warranted. Leave while you can.

Good news is I've seen top performers find much better jobs. These days sr leadership and culture won't keep them much.

I wouldnt stay unless I was within 10 years of retirement, you will not learn any new skills there and other major corps just dont take this place seriously

I am a top performer. Here are the challenges with leaving at this point:

A. While the grass may look greener at other companies, most other companies are just as bad or worse. ( Yes, I look occasionally and get offers EVERY time.)
B. Too close to retirement

  1. I have a phenomenal leader whose bosses are horrible = extra d-mb
  2. I love all of you other top performers with whom I get the awesome opportunity to collaborate with daily.

E. Where else would I go?
F. Our members need a few of us to stick around to keep things afloat. (But will retire one day!)

But sadly, I do understand what you mean.

Or… move to FSB!!! 1 year’s salary as a severance is the way to go!

You’re not wrong. I perform well, and I am formulating my exit strategy.
