Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Allstate Allstate Allstate

Ive been at Allstate for about 3 years. I was hired in the 2021/2022 Hiring rush, you know the rush where they were hiring all the new engineers and consultants on high salaries trying to be “innovative”. Anyways, I like my job here. But I do notice the moral has dropped alot since I first joined. Its like half the company loves it here and the other half hates it. Its a very confusing time at the company right now.

I have wonderful memories of my time at Allstate. Constant change in VPs, new Director about every year, unrelenting lack of direction, all “planning”, no “implementation”. Woke up every day wondering why I needed to drive in to the office with little to do. Then COVID! Lack of direction went on steroids. Fast forward to getting a very generous severance package and a new job in two months! Thanks again su-kers

There is no way half of the employees "love it here". I would say maybe 20% tops and those tend to be the a--kissers and brown nosers or the weirdos that everyone who is sensible tries to stay far far away from.

Hang with the happy folks. It always amazes me that people hang on when they are miserable. Life is way too short to be hanging out in the mud.
