a demographic with a low cost / benefit for DEI to bother with
little worry about DEI for this protected cohort ever nearing retirement bc companies manage them and their exits to avert any legal action reaching class action status
It’s hard to not notice the missing DEI communications celebrating age diversity and valuing the contributions from different generations at the company. However, I have noticed all the training about how older employees can keep Gen Z happy and feeling valued. Oh, and the fully automated $25 gift for 20 years of service thank you tells me a lot too.

No shock there. The tech industry has a long track record of ageism, both with existing employees and laid off workers trying to interview. The question now is does being laid off from Seagate make one look worse or better?
Stay healthy. The next job in your late 50s may be driving a fork lift on 3rd shift.
