Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Where at Labor day and beyond when is the merit being paid?

How much longer do we have to wait? Or was it all lies that Raul, Del Bene, and Drumgoole said publicly on Town Halls they budgeted for Annual Merit awards this year, unlike previous management. Will they pay or go back on their word?

@4tyi+1uh6ShIh There's only one problem with that. You have to be over 68. Until then it's 0% all the way. But least, when your managers don't listen to a word you say, don't have a clue what's going on and are running around like headless chickens. You can sit back and say I told you so, and carry on with what actually needs doing. Although it's a very stressful environment to work within, so I can't see making 68 at this rate.

Some of you have far too much faith in the competence of HR, they haven't a clue what they are doing, especially when it comes to redundancies. I've seen them give clueless bozos, a package far more generous than their Ts&Cs warrant, and their union rep have to tell the bozos, take the money before HR realise their mistake.

Also remember in the 7+ years DXC have done nothing to address the legacy companies, so there aren't DXC Ts&Cs but legacy company Ts&Cs and so those UK redundancy terms are certainly not mine or many others.

If you're being made redundant don't give HR an easy time, if you think you should get more, challenge them, they really haven't a clue.

DXC is one of probably many sh-t companies, servicing inept clients, running legacy systems which should have gone 15 years ago but are still somehow hanging on. It works on assumption we've managed to delay upgrades for 10 years, so can probably milk a few more years. There's no profit in legacy, and equally we're lost too many competent people to do much more than baby sit it all until it's dead. But you equally you cannot hand legacy to someone else as they won't touch it with a barge pole. So that's how we keep most of these clients. The public face of most companies is totally different to what goes on inside. Just that DXC has more than it's fair share of whistle blowers who won't toe the line because they didn't get a pay rise to shut them up.

Redundancy rights are contractual and statutory. In the UK unless you have grandfather terms. You will get:

  • 0.5 week’s pay for each full year worked when you’re under 22
  • 1 week’s pay for each full year worked when you’re between 22 and 41
  • 1.5 week’s pay for each full year worked when you’re 41 or older

Length of service is capped at 20 years (DXC applies this rule). Pay is capped at £700 per week (DXC does not apply that rule, but would do if it went bust). Any redundancy pay up to £30k is non taxable. Pay in lieu of notice is taxed. Know your rights HR aren't competent enough and will tell you whatever and if you accept it then that's on you.

The company used to encourage people with additional bonuses to volunteer, but now seems to have started a war of attrition. No pay rise, get everyone to turn on each other and eventually you'll all just quit. And will then DXC will happily employ someone on 20% more to do a worse job, but they won't be held to ransom or just don't have a process in place to make pay increases in a timely way.

@4qbm+1uh6ShIh that's the usual bullsh-t, its so obvious everyone can smell it now.

They have layoffs every year, does that mean they will never give merit rises.

What about Execs and new hires why do they get more if that's the case.

Stop this sh-t and pay up were not stupid.

The company has been doing layoffs in various groups since the Q1 earnings su-ked. You're likely not getting merit increases this year. In 15 years I can recall getting them maybe 3-4 times.

Also fun to note: if you do get laid off, your severance is based on your "last hire date", not your "continuous service date" and the max is 8 weeks of pay (for 16+ yrs). There's an HR Policy out there with it listed so good luck fighting for better.

Businesses with no trust eventually fail. You just don't go back, and you don't recommend them. I don't feel I can trust my colleagues. Colleagues either can't or won't do what you ask them. You cannot trust they checked something when they said they did. This doesn't go unnoticed by the clients.

We also can't trust our managers to just do what they promised. If it's 0% it's zero, just tell everyone and tell them how they can change that. But this - it's 0% for you and everything else for us, doesn't make anyone want to put in the effort required to make sure it's something for everyone.

@3mni+1uh6ShIh "she didn't have an answer to that :-)"

Its hot air leading the folks on, with no intention to pay. Shame Raul cant even send an email to say when he will pay.

One customer told me they have no trust in DXC and you can understand why when they dont carry out thier financial commitments.

"When did your CTM say they will pay?"

she didn't have an answer to that :-)

The execs and HR are sticking to the company motto. "Deceit across (X) clients and colleagues".
They will always deceive the workers on the ground just for their own ends.

When did your CTM say they will pay?, were in September now, bunch of Texas cowgirls.

They have earnt more in interest by now than what they will pay.

Proof that it's not just people in the UK complaining about this from the title! My CTM said there would be some money, but was not expecting much. I don't think they've been told any more than us really.

I am applying the same level of urgency to the "mandatory" AI training as they have applied to our pay review.

@1sgo+1uh6ShIh it clear what they promised remember back to Raul speeches "ive only been with the company x days we recognize pay issues, this year we have budgeted for Annual Merit" not review.

Stop bullsh-tting saying its a review now that the execs have taken thier money.

Its open lies, no one can trust the management in this company if they keep changing what they say.

Think they promised a pay review NOT a pay award !
We've reviewed and you're all paid too much so no award

How much longer?

Post ID: @rry+1uh6ShIh

Can you trust a word of what they say? All they are interested in is their own pockets and how to fill them using employees merit pay.

by

Post ID: @qvm+1uh6ShIh

It wasn't lies. They just did not say that the merit raises were for the execs only.
