Does anyone know how long your health insurance lasts after being let go?

It’s 28 days at your current rate. Before that’s up you get something from COBRA to sign up for Employee rated COBRA until the end of your severance and that rate is the same as it has been - whatever’s been taken out up until now.
After severance is over you can opt to keep COBRA at their full price, which is insane, of course.

28 days after the separation date. If NY, WARN give 3 months until separation, so you get 4 months total after you get cut.

For those who were let go in the August round, the remain “employees” until Nov 15th with full benefits. Then your severance kicks in (what little you get) and after that you could start Cobra if desired.

Cobra is astronomical I would look into the marketplace for affordable care or a broker Cobra is basically you paying the whole premium - it's a law from the 80s so you weren't cut off from care and pre existing conditions .. I don't believe it helps employees too much anymore minus being in the middle of a treatment -IMO

Unless you are of Three CEOs I don't know anyone that can afford cobra! Especially if you had health insurance for your family. It's all just wrong!

Whatever you sign - it's a non-disclosure agreement.

I believe I read 28 days on the severance agreement then you can sign up for Cobra.

Only a few weeks. (2 years employed) Might be different for different people. The Cobra is completely unaffordable & not doable

I believe you will be offered COBRA, which you can extend for up to 18 months, I think. But COBRA can be expensive.
