Sure. Come back!

You will be on the list to be ‘right sized’ as someone not totally devoted to Oracle!
I have seen this happen multiple times.

if your manager knows an m6 (in some orgs)/m7 or higher, anything can happen.
always remember king mahesh went from m4 to m8 in 4 years, so any rules you think exist can be broken.
i know many people who boomeranged, its 2 years on the books, but as low as 8 months ive seen by exception. depending who you are and what hole you fill, any rule can have an exception

1 year is what everyone, including managers and directors have said for years now.

You want a real industry raise but still want to work for Oracle? Leave for 1 year and then come back, they will then hook you up.

Ideally when you come back go to a team where you know don’t know much and you’ll be like just like the other new hires: your salary will dwarf the old timer hot shots that are keeping the place together and you’ll be going to them for help with your fat salary.

These policies are really great for morale!!!

If you leave and come back it is a career limiting move. You will be viewed as disloyal. It you are going to leave, go! Don’t look back.

If you are leaving because Oracle does not pay well, why would you ever want to return . You may get a slight bump, but you will frozen at the new rate!

Not worth it now. Oracle knows the game. You will come back to a similar job level you left at. If your looking for some large bump in salary, just go find a different job. If you leave 2 times, voluntary resignation, the second time on your way out the door, a flag is put on your record not rehire able. If your caught in a layoff then the rules don't apply to how many times you can come back.

I guess the real question is, why do you want to come back?

“ Oracle has policy that says that’s a no go “
You haven’t been around much, have you?

Happens ALL the time.

The lack of pay raises is one of the stupidest policies at Oracle. They lose so much talent every year because of this and then need to hire more expensive replacements.
As for returning on higher salaries, I know plenty of people who have done this, often more than once. They usually leave for a couple years and then return.

Just depends on whether LE or Safra are the ones who called you back, if yes you are in great shape for a monumental increase, if not then you are SOL

That will never happen. Oracle has policy that says that’s a no go
