No seriously! All of the salaried management in the stores working 10hr+ days and putting in the work for a company who doesn’t appreciate or respect you, it’s not easy! Been there, done that! There are so many illegal things this company has done and is allowing to happen that if one person started a lawsuit, many would join and FOLLETT would be done. They don’t care about you. I was in upper management for over 10 years and worked 60-100 hour weeks… yes, stupid me! But they allowed it and almost expected it in order to reach the unrealistic goals they put on the stores. A fellow peer, managing multiple locations with little labor, had a significant health scare that nearly ki-led him… what did Follett do for him… let him go during medical leave! We both realized we were nothing but someone to face the issues and be walked on by campuses who were promised nothing but lies.
Get out while you can, put you, your family, and your health first before Follett actually does work you to death!

Let’s start a suit. I’m filing with EEOC next week. Tons of illegal things they do and they retaliate when you report to HR
Preach, even corporate gets super illegal!
Curious why sometimes you can give a thumbs up or down and sometimes there is no action. Is there an answer? Who is the admin?
I am deeply troubled by these comments in that they seem to paint a horrible, dreadful, and maybe even illegal work place that has not grown into law suits against Follett or contract terminations by the campus. Stories of ungodly hours, understaffed stores, and having to lock the door for lunch and potty breaks. Lock the doors? My god, how is that even allowed?
I do not have half the Texts I need, I have an underperforming CM3, a store full of part time students who know little, . and I have to order , receive, shelve, and ship what I am told will not sell. Yet I stay because I love my campus. have not seen or talked to my RM as she is too busy with other issues.
Truth, as we all know it! Hiring isn’t even the same. They have clueless hires running stores and a training program that’s laughable. Promoting part timers who have been in their positions maybe a couple months to management roles and told they deserve it, when really it’s only because they need a body and no one else will take the low salary offered for such a big job.
It’s hard for some of you to leave, maybe you’re afraid you won’t find something that pays equivalent to what you’re making now… maybe you need the benefits, or sh-t, maybe you still love what the job once was… save up some money and take the leap! It’s worth it. Some of you may already realize you’re not appreciated and being run into the ground, but once you leave, wow does it all become clear that you’ve been in an abusive relationship the last several years.
Quite right. Run, you fools!
