If we unionize, we can demand higher pay, better benefits, improved work conditions AND still serve our campuses with pride. More details to come shortly on our “gathering” to determine interest. It will NOT be posted in this forum but will be communicated to all retail team members (non-salaried). Stay tuned!

Genuinely curious - do stores look at their financials anymore?
I know first hand that we're all overworked and underpaid. But I also know that a lot of stores begging for additional payroll are losing money - negative PBO. More payroll won't do you any good if it puts your store out of business.
Threatening to close all stores to prevent unionization?
I highly doubt that would happen.
Frankly, JRC has pi---d off enough campuses by cutting their staffing to bare bones and losing revenue- not only for follett but for the campuses you work for- that I bet many of them may be looking into running stores themselves and keeping all the profit.
Dumping follett for contract violations could be the best thing your campuses could do! i know our campus has not received any money from follett in almost a year.
Y'all still have non-salaried employees?
JRC is threatening to close all retail stores to avoid a union forming. They are working on consolidation plans and will eliminate any threat.
Thank you JRC LLC Corporate HR!
Best to work ourselves to death to the betterment of JRC ROI.
While everyone has legitimate grievances it's too easy to say unionize. You need to find a union that is willing to invest the time, money and resources to accomplish that. And if you had to treat each store as an invididual group it doesn't make sense to a union. Especially in a declining industry and limited store contract lengths.
Not gonna happen. Just sayin. Dreaming of Follett being a better place is just that, a dream.
Ready to rumble! Going to take an effort from all concerned. Let us begin!
Sounds good!
And not before time!
Good luck☘️
