Thread regarding USAA layoffs

enough

The constant bullying and favoritism is wearing me down and undermining my confidence. They finally broke me to tears but I need the check. I'm not the same as when I joined the company. And now I'm battling cancer!

I'm sorry to hear about your health. Please don't quit without having a backup plan. USAA's insurance is really good. The leave of absence is also very good. Once you get better, then you can make a decision about leaving. Right now, your health is #1

I left USAA in August and it's been a breath of fresh air! Get out! Run away from that place and enjoy your life. I usually don't say the grass is greener, but anything is better than the dried-up dead grass at USAA. There's hope, just gotta claw yourself out. You can do it!

No good leaders at USAA. They are all a$$ kissers and terrified to stand up for anything.

It is a highly toxic environment. If possible, dump them and move on.

Look into short-term disability during your treatment. Best of luck.

Sorry to hear about your health situation. When you're battling Cancer, last thing you want to worry about is USAA & its micro management and bullying culture.
Everyone knows that EMG & CIO's are trying to create a toxic culture to achieve max Attrition prior to 2027/2030 & pocket the big bonuses and pay hikes for themselves

I am so sorry. I was diagnosed with cancer too, about a year after the bullying at USAA started. I don't think it's good for our immune systems and health. I have a new job where people treat me like a human being and actually they do not even know I have cancer because our work life balance lets me do chemotherapy without everyone having to know.

Such bad advice! Please stay and get the health treatment you need! Try to find a newjob somewhere else at USAA where you can thrive. There are some good leaders there.

Just quit, your mental health is not worth a job. Thats what I did and I took 6 months off. I regrouped quickly with a contract job and found another full time position at a way better place. Never been happier.

It has definitely changed since early 2021.

Rto has made it redundant and boring as heck as my whole team is in San Antonio.

I dont see bullying on my team, but favoritism slightly. I see the slackers kinda get coddled a bit.

I do see favoritism on other teams, especially when people get ‘promoted’ and they happen to be on the same team as the hiring manager and they have only been in their previous position for about nine months…hmmmm

It is a toxic environment. You should be confident in identifying that. I worked there for years and after walking away it was an overwhelming quality of life change.

That dying company is not you. I wish you all the luck in the world with your battle with cancer.
