I spent 15 years at oracle….I’ve never heard on person, past or present, say anything good about the people or the company. While I was there, it was horrible and horrible people running it. It made me miss working outside away from a comfy desk and warm home eating yourself into health problems and making people feel bad.

There are now fewer people who hate their jobs, just their past employer.

We had few people like that in my old GBU. I was new to tech when I joined them and didnt know what I didn't know. Man...did I learn a lot about working and people. It didn't matter. There were so many "ME" people, there was no team. I dealt with all types. We had a very toxic useless leader in a SVP named Diane. She was absolutely brutal, liar, snake. She loved overpowering even the best men she had on her side. The best thing was, her resume read like that of a "we'll just keep her here cause really....she can't do anything else but yap and complain". I think her and some lapdog guy of hers are still there. He was also useless. They hired all yes men. Mostly men who would not have careers anywhere in tech. I was a decade in before I realized that it was just a prop. About 20% of the people doing 100% of the work. I can laugh now, but while I thought staying there for a while was a big mistake...it really was ever walking in the door and following people who were called "managers" or "SVP's" and had the skill level of a rubber mallet. You really have to be careful who you buddy up to. They can single handedly ruin your career. Why? They have no clue what they're doing or making it up as they go along. When you want to go another direction, they will commit to a direction that they know is useless or wrong and just keep going down it. I have worked at other companies at other companies before and since. I've never been at a company where it is welcome to make good people look bad and steal their work. The other people I worked with, they were comfortable doing task work that a 10 year old could do and their skills are archaic and useless in the market. So they know they can't go anywhere. It stinks cause Oracle has some cool products, but man, the mgmt some of the staff.....they make it hard to stay and want to even do good.

Been at Oracle a long time. Every so often, there is a "personality" shift where someone shows up and wants to make a "name" for themselves and they are toxic in how they approach it. These are the people that make us HATE Oracle. They may be internal people with an axe to grind, or someone from the outside that actually hates Oracle or a toxic person that was "unchecked". These people get away with it for a while as Oracle sees if their agenda is good for the company - if Oracle is aware of it. While these toxic people ascend to whatever height they aspire to, they step on, back stab, white wash and gaslight their way. They build up their own demise. These toxic people have an "arc" before they are outside Oracle or they leave to cause chaos some place else. Sometimes, that chaos is what caused them to "appear" in your department or line of business. When these people are on their way "up" make sure that their wings are clipped early. Once they get to be a Snr. Manager or VP, the table will switch, and Oracle will defend them. Got a terrible manager? Make sure you report them on the ethics hotline - anonymously. DO NOT try and take a manager out on the regular surveys each year. Be smart and anonymous about reporting bad managers, and fix the problems before you hate Oracle. Don't be lazy. Just do it.

Corruption is a hot topic. The mid level
Oligarch will probably fall first and the hardest. He will talk but doubt they’ll listen to him. Big Corp can no longer turn a blind eye. BlackRock has Wall Street’s ear. Cleanup is inevitable. Hopefully we’ll get more details soon.

“ I'm just confused. If you want to leave Oracle, just go ahead. “

It is just an observation, watching over worked and underpaid troglodytes.

I have zero sympathy for "inertia" employees who CHOOSE to stay where they're at in Oracle. My word, if you're that miserable why are you putting up with it?

Was at at Oracle for 20 years. the first 17 or so were good, but the last 3 were really painful. Looking back, I should have never put up with it. Finally left, and I'm so glad I did. Unlike Oracle, there are many employers who will value you, they will help you excel and succeed in your career, and they will pay you much better.

They want you to go if you are in North America and over 40.

I'm just confused. If you want to leave Oracle, just go ahead. If you think you can find a better opportunity just do it. Oracle won't force you to stay suffering on the job you hate so much.

The thing is, I don't hate what I do. I love solving problems and finding solutions. I just hate the people that I do it for...

"I have never seen so many people hating their jobs, and wanting to leave! "

Sounds like you might not be aware of The Oracle Doormat Principle then? It explains everything you find so surprising.
