I’d like to thank my leader for laying me off just before the holidays. I’d also like to thank him for having postings for my own team that I was cut from and for rejecting my application because I “wasn’t what he was looking for anymore.” Thank you for giving me hope that I’d get to keep my health insurance and continue to exist.

He was demoted from people manager to individual contributor? How common is that?
Most managers have zero people skills. They are "yes" people who typically only care about their own careers. The one I had had a big mouth with no real knowledge to back his hot air. I hear he is no longer leading and I hope that means that the next mis-step will be his last.
So sorry this happened to you. Usaa will reap bad karma. Members will leave and the brand will do a humpty dumpty. You cant treat people this way and mistreat so many whose livelihood depends on a job.
I was laid off and the only warning were the previous layoffs.
Oh and my director stopped responding to my emails and slack messages two days before. Like not even a good morning response.
What department
I and about 300 other people got laid off. They did another round in April and the only warning was a One on One with my bosses boss because she didn’t want to be the one to tell me or my teammates
Same thing occurred in Bank BRC with the April lay offs. Folks were still in their 60 day period and same roles were being posted in our group. It’s a real kick in the pants, sorry that you’re going through it too.
Sorry this happened to you especially at the holidays
Can you share what led up to it? Was there any warning?
Did you get layed off or let go?
That really su-ks. I am so sorry they dealt you that. Without giving too much away, what area were you in?
So sorry this happened to you.
