Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Why bother with layoffs …

When they can’t just alter the job role’s requirements until it is no longer tolerable!

Have they made your job more demanding? How?

And I "want" that sweet package.

There is a quick easy way for us each to have what we want.

CNN today ran a news item concerning companies that 'want' their employees to leave. It's a thing now and getting national attention.

"Oracle’s weakest link is mid mgmt which has caused upper mgmt to make challenging procedural changes."

Which is just another way to say that upper management doesn't really know what is going on.

Oracle’s weakest link is mid mgmt which has caused upper mgmt to make challenging procedural changes. They really don’t know or let’s say for too long they have turned a blind eye to their weakest link. Nothing is written in stone. There will be alot of procedural changes, ahead. With changes, they will find and sort the a*s ki *sers from the qualified. They could save a lot of money by hiring a 3rd party consulting firm to sort through the mess but probably will not because they don’t want to spend the money and they know there is corruption. They want to deal with the corruot individuals their way. But you never know
Things are changing fast in every direction. Just know alot of changes will happen.
Expect inadequate corrupt middle mgmt to be fired and some will prosecuted and expect qualified promotions from within. Good time to do your best job. Most likely those that have been overlooked because you are more qualified that your managers will rise.,
The object is to eliminate the fat.

Metrics. Base employee raises/focal on a metric that has absolutely no relation or value to actual job, but it's a great power point slide in the VP annuals. Then remove the ability to meet that metric with new tools (but of course you're not going to suspend using that metric for performance review). Then stand up and claim that compensation is 'merit based' and provide a salary pool that only supports a fraction of the team so that even if you 'meet standards' you get.. nothing.

Forget about going back into the office …. That’s easy. Now they are asking us to travel to customer sites weekly.

It’s all about numbers. Oracle can’t do anything right.
