Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Hybrid workers

If Q4 or Q1 does not produce expected positive results, we will all be back in office 3 days a week.

Think of it as just another way to get rid of Americans and move jobs to India. Back to office workers are not immune.

Foreign nationals with no relevant mass retail experience running such an iconic American brand are pulling all tricks out of their hat to su-k this company dry before they move on.

To piggyback off this post, here are some projections if we don't have acceptable results in Q4 or Q1
Remote Workers will have hours and work tracked. Think of active time logged in to a VPN or key strokes.
Hybrid Workers may be mandated to come to the office 3 or more days. Leaders will manage and hold team memberd accountable by reviewing security scans In/Out.
Service and Contact Centers may see work outsourced to save money.
These are all assumptions but may be realistic based on other similiar businesses.

And remote workers....Bye bye! Target will soon show it's red color. The need to reduce non essential headcount to keep investors happy.

Doubt it. They got rid of so much office space at HQ I don’t know where they’d put everyone. If anything there’ll be more layoffs

Yes, because the real problem with Target is not enough face to face collaboration. It's definitely not the Sr. Leadership of the company that has no idea what they're doing.

Talking to some leaders, they are wanting more in-person collaborations cross the enterprise. TNC and Downtown locations are empty with the exception of the days they are giving away stuff.
What better way to reduce head count by forcing people back who reside 30-50 miles away.

Possibly, I also anticipate layoffs and continued offshoring to TII. There's a lot of bloat in areas of the enterprise that grew a ton during the pandemic that I imagine will be getting a look to make cuts.

Maybe if you office in India. Everyone else will be lucky to work at all. I don’t see any result but brutal layoffs coming in Jan/Feb.

The company is trying to offload its office and DC space nationally along with the workers therein, not stock up.
