So what happens to all the underpaid, overworked exempt employees once the new overtime laws take effect after the first of the year? As far as I know, not a single CM3 earns more than $58,656 - the threshold where overtime pay is no longer mandatory. Anything under that has to be paid overtime. And let’s be real: I also don’t know a single CM3 who can realistically do their job in just 40 hours a week... There's either going to have to be a LOT of raises or their going to have to loosen those purse strings and kick in some overtime pay. I feel like they're just going to punish everyone for not being able to do their inhumane workload in 40 hours though.

I was a CM3 making 64k, but I know I was making a lot for a CMM when I was transition over to CM3 and in a HCOL area. Still not enough for me to stay.
I have decided that I will put in exactly 40 hours a week. What doesn't get done, well, it doesn't get done. It will be there tomorrow. I refuse to put in more than 40 hours for little pay and no overtime. I do not live to work. I work to live.
If the faculty starts to complain that things are not getting done, I will explain to my campus contact that I am only paid for 40 hours, not 50. They can take it up with corporate. If they decide to fire me. So be it. Toxic work environments are not ok anymore.
Great how one court in Texas gets to decide for the whole nation. I read they went as far as undueing the previous increase retroactively somehow as well. Welcome to Trump's America. He loves the workers. Loves to keep them poor and obedient by promising them more and giving them less.
Yea the increases got thrown out by a federal court and the new admin is unlikely to push for increases.
Or try to figure out how to replace CM3s with AI
