Will the Marathon acquisition be the kiss of death for COP. It feels like since the Concho deal the wheels on the bus have fallen off. Will the marathon deal be more of the same. We are trying so hard to be a leader in our industry we have lost our ability to deliver on the fundamentals. Am I wrong on this take?

Very very few Marathoners will make it over, so it’s not really a concern.

Probably. On average COP employees are compensated over 35% more than MRO employees for the exact same role. Transitioning MRO employees for up to 24 months without so much of an “in-house market” correction is a recipe for disaster.

Neither party, especially MRO, has exactly put their best foot forward.
