5 percent of the total reduction is on 737 program. 2 percent Management, 2 percent salaried non represented and 1 percent SPEAA. No IAM. The other 5 is split between Everett, 787 and DEI. You can see the plan tomorrow if you are plugged in.
Ah yes, the iam's heads are a bit inflated. Trust me outside of boeing you'll be lucky to get a position at fred meyers. To answer the question, yes their time is coming. You do not lay off 10% of the company without touching a meat head mechanic. Yes, rates are intended to increase, but that didn't stop the layoffs for engineers.
Everyone keeps saying they will lay off the managers & anyone who doesn’t touch a plane first. But also forget that these very people will be on a prowl whether it micromanaging or just finding reason to get rid of that one lazy phuc machinist that’s always trying to abuse their privilege to the max. Do as little as possible while at work. With new management set in place, expect more micromanaging & let the trimming begin. As about half of these Machinist would never survive in the real work world where you have to actually do work. LoL

They will never lay off the machinists, why do you think they gave us a 38% raise they know we are the best workers they can find. Buy that big truck we are all safe.
IAM members are safe! Rate increases next year. All the fat will be trimmed on mostly managers, lean, IE and others that don't actually build anything. Buy that new truck, add a big boat too and the office guys wife's will love to jump on board half na--d with you next summer when their husband's are out of a job and can't get a real job building things.
If you don't have over 10 years of seniority, I'd recommend holding off on any major purchases until March.
